Koukoimo (filial piety potato)

The traditional name for sweet potatoes in Tsushima.

During the food shortage in Tsushima in the Edo period, sweet potatoes became a savior.

It became known by that nickname because it is a potato that shows filial piety to farmers.

Even in the distant past, the filial piety potato and the lives of the people were undoubtedly there.

I was lost in thought amidst the mountain breeze and the sound of waves.
