Yujiro Kubota's "Sweet Potato Monument" (at the entrance to the back approach of Ozaki Shrine)

Yujiro Kubota (1857-1940)

In recognition of his contributions to popularizing the Santoku sweet potato and Shichifuku sweet potato,

It was built in 1915 (Taisho 4).

Especially during the food shortages in the wartime and postwar periods,

It played a valuable role as a food source and a substitute fuel resource during wartime.
