Aoki Konyo Sweet Potato Experimental Cultivation Site

In 1735, Aoki Konyo (commonly known as "Sweet Potato Teacher"), acting on orders from the eighth shogun Tokugawa Yoshimune,

This is one of the historical sites where sweet potato experimental cultivation was conducted as a measure against famine.

It is known as the only place among several test sites where a prototype was successfully manufactured, and a monument has been erected there.

This is truly the birthplace of the sweet potato, the savior of Edo!
